On Arab Control of US Ports: Natl Security Issues, Other Questions Persist

The controversy over the US contracting management control of six American Ports to an Arab company continues as members of Congress join the right side of the blogosphere in opposition to the agreement which was initially given the green light by the Bush administration. If you’re wondering why this deal was even considered, you’re not alone.

Here’s one thing I’m confident about – when Jimmy Carter agrees with the Bush administration, something is wrong.

I don't thing the ports are being sold. This is about the contracts to provide operation and management of the port facilities. Still, I think it's a bad idea. Why should we take this risk, when about 20% of the UAE believes Osama is a hero.

Bush does not care about homeland security, otherwise this would not have happened. What he does care about is Crawford ranch and Bush bank account security. How could you be the President of a nation that is in a so called war on terrorists with a concentration in the Middle East and not be aware that the UAE is in the process of managing the shipping operations of six major ports!! But I guess if this vital information was not mentioned in a private phone call then it's not considered important in the war against terrorism.
